Fort Collins is well known for its nightlife and dining, specifically in old town. While many of these restaurants are popular chains, there are many that still stand out as unique to Fort Collins, and some even farm to table.

This article will help you decide where to go on your next date, depending on your mood, budget, and personal tastes.

If you are looking for a casual night out, and some Northern Colorado uniqueness, we have a few suggestions for you. Avogadro’s Number, The Colorado Room, Tasty Harmony and Resturant 415, are all excellent choices specific to Fort Collins. As for a more formal night, we suggest The Farmhouse at Jessup Farms and Locality: Kitchen and Bar.

Casual

Avogadro’s Number

Avogadro’s Number offers many vegetarian options, as well something for you carnivores out there. Their menu includes breakfast items, like to biscuits and eggs, to dinner items, like burgers and pizza. Avogadro’s also offers locally sourced brews to compliment any of your meals, even breakfast!

Atmosphere:

Avo’s (as the locals call it) is one of the most well-known restaurants in Fort Collins for live music as well. Their quaint backyard-style patio features several local artists every week. The casual atmosphere and tasty home-made food pairs well with local craft beer served as if it were a close family barbecue and even if you don’t have a date, Avo’s is an excellent place to meet new people.

The Colorado Room

The Colorado Room is located in Old Town Fort Collins, just off of College Avenue. If you’re looking for a casual restaurant with excellent, local food, and want to see what Colorado is all about this is the place to be. The Colorado Room has a variety of sandwiches, sliders, and wings that are sure to stimulate your senses.

They also offer a wide variety local craft beers to add to your meal.  The menu can be found here.

If you choose to dine-in, The Colorado Room will donate a portion of your bill to a local charity. Patio seating is also available if you are more of an outdoor, Autumn loving person. Just like Avos, they often host local musicians to play on their patio, although unlike Avos, they do not have a cover charge for their bands.

So sit back, order a few sliders and a beer, and enjoy the FoCo sounds.

Restaurant 415

Restaurant 415 is a casual, fun place where you can go sit down and have a drink made with fresh herbs or enjoy a unique, refreshing meal that can accommodate any diet. Located parallel to Old Town Fort Collins on Mason St. you can go to Restaurant 415 and enjoy the peaceful patio seating, or sit inside and indulge in the friendly, positive atmosphere. If you’re a Food Network fan, you might remember this restaurant as a Guy Fieri favorite.

What to expect:

This is the perfect casual, yet upbeat setting to bring your special someone to, not matter if they are a Tinder date or your fiance! Their menu will delight, from mac and cheese to an extensive pizza menu, all locally sourced and prepared. Treat your date to some fresh and unique flavors to show that you are just as fresh and unique as the food!

Tasty Harmony

This restaurant is THE choice if you prefer vegetarian or Vegan meals in a slightly less casual setting. Tasty Harmony has been owned and operated by a Fort Collins family since 2009, and it is their mission to offer healthy, organic food that tastes great. While, like many others we’ll be discussing today, this restaurant embodies the idea of “local.”

It may not be considered “Farm Fresh,” but rather “Garden Fresh.” The family that owns the eatery also manages a quarter acre garden, where they grow their own food in the growing season and use it compliment every appropriate meal.

The Vegetarian Choice:

If you’re looking to show your date how healthy you are, definitely give this place some consideration. It is one of the few Fort Collins restaurants that offers a wide vegan entrees and gets their ingredients locally. Reservations are not taken but you shoulder have no issue being able to get seated. Formal

The Farmhouse at Jessup Farms

The Farmhouse at Jessup Farms is just a short drive from Old Town, located on Timberline and Jessup Drive. For a first date, The Farmhouse’s 133 year old setting with a true farm feel gives you a perfect getaway from the typical city date. The large outdoor patio lets you get the full experience with chicken coops located just a couple feet from your table.

Looking for a cocktail?

The Farmhouse has a full bar service that offers a wide range of house made cocktails along with beer and wine to compliment the fresh dinner. Dinners range from the freshest salads in Fort Collins to Duck Breast and Shrimp and Grits. The wide variety and reasonable prices of the menu allows The Farmhouse to be a top choice when deciding where to impress that first date of yours.

Locality: Kitchen and Bar

For a chef driven menu, have a look at Locality. Their offerings have a strong emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. The owners are both Fort Collins locals and are “passionate about providing an incredible dining experience” (according to their website).

If you are trying to impress your date with the size of your wallet, this could be a good place start. Especially if you are also concerned with eating a “farm fresh” meal.

Locality also offers a truly unique experience with their “lights out” dining opportunity. Ever tried eating in pitch black? This is how you can focus your senses entirely on your meal, without being distracted by your surroundings.
